Areas of Expertise Coming from dealing with many different situations and problems, I have always wanted to become specialized in one particular area: trauma and abuse. I have dealt with a lot of it in the course of my experience, as well as read about this topic, and attended workshops about this topic, and completed a 3 year training program entitled Somatic Experiencing (www.traumahealing.com). Another area I enjoy is dealing with adolescents. I have always enjoyed working with them, and have had a lot of experience at it, as many people shy away from working with them, and will send those cases to me. Adolescents are an integral part of families (they have parents, maybe siblings) and automatically have a family to work with in therapy. I also enjoy utilizing the spiritual aspect of people's lives, so I love it when a client wants to bring in spiritual issues to the therapy process, but will only do so if the client wants this aspect. |
